Cabinet approves abolition of extra import duty from Jan 1, 2016
The Ukranian government introduced an across-the-board import tariff in early 2015 in order to balance its current account.
On 25 February 2015 entered into force Law of Ukraine #1562 'On measures concerning the stabilisation of the balance of payments of Ukraine in compliance with the Article XII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade of 1994 #73-VIII'. It imposes a 12-month additional surcharge on the goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine.

These tariffs are applied regardless of country of origin. Signatories of FTAs with Ukraine are also included.
