Import tariff

 On 22 January 2015, Sri Lanka increased the Special Commodity Levy on rice from Rs. 1 per kg. to Rs. 20 per kg. According to the notification the levy will be valid for 4 months. The Rs.1 duty was set on 2 December 2014.
 
The levy was increased again in March 2015 (see related measure).
 
The Special Commodity Levy is a composite duty on the product and no other tax, duty, cess etc. is applicable on the said product while the levy is valid.
