ANNOUNCEMENT 18 Jun 2015

On 18 June 2015, Sri Lanka made the following amendments to the Special Commodity Levy. The Special Commodity Levy is a composite duty on the product and no other tax, duty, cess etc. is applicable on the said product while the levy is valid.

soyabean crude oil - increased from Rs. 90 per kg. to Rs. 105 per kg. Crude palm oil and palm stearim - increased from Rs. 90 per kg. to Rs. 105 per kg. Crude sunflower seed oil - increased from Rs. 90 per kg. to Rs 105 per kg This measure is valid for 4 months. The levy on the oil products was reduced to Rs. 90 in July 2015 (see related measure).
