Import tariff

 On 24 May 2014, Sri Lanka amended the Special Commodity Levy on masoor dhal imports as follows - 
 

  1. The reduced levy of Rs 5 per kg. on split masoor dhal, which was to expire on July was extended until December 2014 (see related measure).
  2. The levy on whol masoor dhal was reduced from Rs. 10 to Rs. 5 per kg. This reduced duty is applicable for 7 months (see related measure).

 
The Special Commodity Levy is a composite duty on the product and no other tax, duty, cess etc. is applicable on the said product while the levy is valid.
