Import tariff quota

On 14 March 2014, the Ministry of Economy published a regulation in the Official Federal Gazette introducing tariff-rate quotas on fish. The goods received a quota of 55'000 and are exempted from the import duty. The quota is split into 30% for January to May and 70% for June to December for each year. The duty exemption is applicable to the following tariff codes:

  • 0304.31.01: Oreochromis spp.
  • 0304.32.01: Pangasius spp., Silurus spp., Clarias spp., and Ictalurus spp.
  • 0304.61.01: Oreochromis spp.
  • 0304.62.02: Pangasius spp., Silurus spp., Clarias spp., and Ictalurus spp.

The regulation took effect on 15 March 2014. Originally, the tariff-rate quotas on fish were established in a regulation published in the Official Federal Gazette of 13 December 2014. At that time, the quota and time frame to be applied had not been specified yet. For the latter regulation, please consult measure no. 5719.
