In a Federal Register notice published on August 14, 2015 (Vol. 80, No. 157), the Federal Transit Administration announced that in response to the City of Kansas City, Missouri's request concerning a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC system, the Federal Transit Administration waived its Buy America requirements for the VRF HVAC system to be installed at the Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) associated with the Kansas City Downtown Streetcar Project. The item in question was expected to be sourced in Japan.
