On 14 October 2014, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution no. 94 introducing a tariff-rate quota on steel plates carrying the Mercosur Common Nomenclature 7208.51.00. The good's tariff was reduced from 12% to 2% for a quota of 122'000 tons and a period of 180 days, starting 15 October 2014. The good will to be used in the production of stainless steel tubes for the maritime industry.
Update
On 13 April 2015, Camex Resolution no. 25 prolonged the tariff-rate quota by three months, starting 15 April 2015.
