In August 2015, the government of Canada initiated a new anti-subsidy and antidumping investigation. In November, a provisional duty was imposed and a definitive duty was imposed in March 2016. In March 2021, a sunset review was initiated.

Anti-dumping

On August 28, 2015 the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an antidumping investigation on certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe imported from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code subheading 7304.19, 7305.11, 7305.12, 7305.19, and 7306.19. The investigations follow a complaint filed by EVRAZ Inc. NA Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan) and Canadian National Steel Corporation (Camrose, Alberta) (collectively 'Evraz'), and Tenaris Global Services (Canada) Inc. (Calgary, Alberta), Algoma Tubes Inc. (Sault Ste Marie, Ontario), and Prudential ULC (Calgary, Alberta) (collectively 'Tenaris Canada'). The Candian authorities initiated in tandem an anti-subsidy investigation, see related intervention.  

On 26 November 2015, the Canadian authorities imposed a provisional duty on the subject good from China. The rate of duty is between 71% and 361.7%.

On 29 March 2016, the Canadian authorities imposed a definitive duty on imports of certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe from China. The rate of duty is between 74% and 351.4%.

On 8 March 2021, the Canada Border Services Agency initiated a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe from China.

Anti-subsidy

On 28 August 2015, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe imported from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code subheading 7304.19, 7305.11, 7305.12, 7305.19, and 7306.19. On 26 November 2015, the Canadian authorities imposed a provisional countervailing duty on the subject good from China. The rate of duty is between 0.16% and 34.73%.

On 29 March 2016, the Canadian authorities imposed a definitive duty on imports of certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe from China. The rate of duty is between CNY 12.10 and 989.97 per metric tone.

On 8 March 2021, the Canada Border Services Agency initiated a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe from China.
