Import tariff

 On 10 August 2011, Sri Lanka increased the Special Commodity Levy on the import of potatoes from Rs. 30 to Rs. 35/kg., on onions from Rs. 10 to Rs. 25/kg. and on garlic from Rs. 10 to Rs. 25/kg. The increased levy is valid for 4 months.
 
The Special Commodity Levy is a composite duty on the product and no other tax, duty, cess etc. is applicable on the said product.
