Anti-subsidy

On August 14th, 2015, the European Commission announced the initiation of an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of European sea bass and gilthead sea bream (fresh, chilled or frozen), in the form of whole fish (with heads on), with heads off, in the form of fillets, from Turkey (Notice No 2015/C 266/06).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 0302.8410, 0302.8530, 0303.8410, 0303.8955, ex 0304.4990 and ex 0304.8990.
The complaint was lodged on July 1st, 2015 by APROMAR (Asociación Empresarial de Productores de Cultivos Marinos), on behalf of producers representing more than 25% of the EU production of the subject goods.
 
On 11 August 2016, the European Commission terminated the above anti-subsidy investigation. The investigation was terminated following the complainant withdrawing its complaint on 1 June 2016 due to the Turkish authorities' withdrawal of the main subsidy scheme with the effect of 1 January 2016.
