Import quota

On 10 August 2015, the Indonesian Coordinating Economic Minister announced the government asked the state-trading enterprise Bulog to import an additional 50'000 tonnes of cattle in the coming two weeks.
The move comes after a recent price hike that followed an 80% cut of the quota for the third quota from 270 thousand to 50 thousand tonnes (cf. Related Measures).
As this measure is meant as an additional quota only for the coming two weeks, it does not replace the initial quota for the third quarter of 2015 and therefore the original measure remains classified as implemented.
At the time of writing, no official statement by the Ministry for Economic Coordination was available.
