On 1 January 2015, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) reduced the customs duty on paper and paperboard (HS 4811.41.90). The import tariff was reduced from 2% ad valorem to free of duty. The reduction is part of a phase-down of import duties on various HS codes for paper and paperboard since 2005.
