FDI: Entry and ownership rule

 On 8 August 2014, the Australian government issued the Qantas Sale Amendment Act lifting the ownership restriction by a single foreign investor of 25% and the ownership restriction by foreign airlines of 35%.
Nevertheless, foreign entities may still not own more than 49% of the airline company.
The amendment came into force on 28 August 2014.
