As of 24 March 2015, Mexico introduced tariff-rate quotas on the importation of baby products and toys. The law, which was published in the Official Federal Gazette of 23 March 2015, eliminates the import duty until 31 December 2017. The quota is based on a formula which defines the maximum import value for each importer depending on a function including past domestic sales performance and a general reference value. The general reference values for the quotas are USD 45 million for 2015, USD 40 million for 2016, and USD 35 million for 2017.
