Import tariff quota

On 14 October 2014, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution no. 94 introducing a tariff-rate quota on steel plates thicker than 10mm, taking effect on 15 October 2014. The good carries the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) 7208.51.00. The quota was fixed at 122'000 tons for a period of 180 days, while the tariff was reduced from 12% to 2%.
 
Update
On 13 April 2015, Camex issued Resolution no. 25 extending the tariff-rate quota for three months, effective 15 April 2015. The quota and the tariff stayed the same.
