In June 2009, the government of Indonesia initiated a new anti-dumping investigation and in November 2010 a definitive duty was imposed. In October 2014, a sunset review was initiated and the duty was extended for a new period in December 2015. In February 2018, the Indonesian authorities announced the initiation of a second sunset review and extended the definitive duty in March 2019.

On June 30, 2009, the Indonesian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of H and I sections from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7216.3200 (I sections) and 7216.3300 (H sections).
On November 23, 2010, the Indonesian authorities decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on imports of H and I sections originating in China (Regulation of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia No. 195/PMK. 011/2010). The rate of the duty is 11.93%, at the exception of the companies Rizhao Medium Section Mill Co. Ltd. and Laiwu Steel Corporation whose exports are subject to a duty of 6.63% and 6.68% respectively. This definitive anti-dumping duty is applicable for a period of five years.
On October 28, 2014, the Indonesian authorities initiated a review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on November 23, 2010.
On 23 December 2015, following the conclusion the above-mentioned sunset review the Indonesian authorities extended the definitive anti-dumping duty (Regulation No. PMK-242 / PMK.010 / 2015). The definitive duty is 11.93% on the subject good from China for a period of three years.
On 1 February 2018, the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI) issued an announcement initiating a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the application lodged by PT Gunung Garuda. The definitive antidumping duty extended in 2015 is set to expire on 23 December 2018.
On 18 March 2019, the Indonesian authorities issued Regulation Number 24/PMK.010/2019 extending the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of H and I sections from China. The rate of duty is 11.93%. The duty is in force for a period of five years. The regulation enters into force 14 days following the date of publication, i.e. 1 April 2019.
