On April 8, 2009 the government of Indonesia initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of hot rolled coil originating from the Republic of Korea and Malaysia.
On 7 February 2011, the government of Indonesia imposed a definitive duty. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in South Korea is 3.8%, at the exception of the following companies, which are not subject to the measure: Hyundai Steel Company, POSCO, Dongkuk Industries Co., dan Hynday HYSCO. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in Malaysia is 48.4%.
On April 8th, 2015, the Indonesian authorities initiated a sunset review of the above-mentioned anti-dumping measure.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7208.1000, 7208.2500, 7208.2600, 7208.2710, 7208.2790, 7208.3600, 7208.3700, 7208.3800, 7208.3900 and 7208.9000.
This follows the request lodged by PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk.
On August 13th, 2015, the Indonesian authorities announced the initiation of an interim review of the definitive anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of hot rolled coil from South Korea.
It follows the request lodged by PT Krakatau Steel. The review started on September 1st, 2015.
