NUMBER OF INTERVENTIONS
In a Federal Register notice (Volume 80, Number 128) published on July 6, 2015 the Rural Business-Cooperative Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) solicited applications for the Biorefinery, Renewable Chemical, and Biobased Product Manufacturing Assistance Program.
The program provides guaranteed loans to fund the development, construction, and retrofitting of commercial scale biorefineries using eligible technology and of biobased product manufacturing facilities that use technologically new commercial scale processing and manufacturing equipment to convert renewable chemicals and other biobased outputs of biorefineries into end-user products, on a commercial scale. The rules of the scheme require producion within a state of the United States. The application deadlines are October 1, 2015, and April 1, 2016.
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives thatare likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facinginternational competition, whether from imports, in export markets, andfrom foreign subsidiaries.
