Anti-dumping

On July 9th, 2015, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of PET films from Bahrain and Peru (Circular No. 45, 09.07.2015).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 3920.6219, 3920.6291 and 3920.6299.
The complaint was lodged on April 29th, 2015 by Terphane Ltda. The investigation started on the day of the publication of the circular in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil, i.e. on July 10th, 2015.
 
On 29 July 2016, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade terminated the above investigation without the imposition on duties. The investigation was terminated as there was no sufficient evidence of the existence of damages or threat to the domistic industry.
