On 5 July 2015, the Turkish government decided to impose an additional duty of 25% of the import value on wires, grills, nets and grids made out of iron or nonalloyed steel.

Additional duties are imposed collectively with the MFN import duty set by the Decree on Import Regime. Notably, Turkey’s FTA partners and EU countries are exempt from additional duties.

On 3 July 2017, through a decree of the council of ministers, the government of Turkey made a revision in this decree (see related state act).

On 21 April 2020, the government of Turkey temporarily increased the additional duties (see related state act).
