Production subsidy

 On 19 March 2015, the Pakistan's Economic Coordination Committee approved the following proposals-
 

  • The cut-off date for the export of 1.2 million tons of wheat from Punjab and Sindh was extended by 1 month to 30 April for Sindh and 15 May for Punjab (see related measure)
  • The import ban on wheat and wheat products was lifted and a regulatory duty of 25% was imposed (increased from 20% before the import ban, see related measure))
  • Rs. 96 million were approved as support for the Pakistan Machine Tool Factoryfor payment of three months' salary to its employees
  • An regulatory import duty of 12.5% was imposed on hot rolled products and pipes of iron and steel (according to the official notification a duty of 12.5% was imposed on HS code 7208, 7303, 7304, and 7306 while a duty of 15% was imposed on HS 7305.)
