Import tariff quota

On 24 July 2014, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued resolution no. 57 introducing a tariff-rate quota on carbon steel plates, which carries the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) classification Ex 001 of NCM 7208.51.00. Its tariff was reduced from 12% to 2% for a quota of 18'000 tons and a period of 180 days.
 
Update
On 12 August 2014, Camex Resolution no. 64 extended the period until 28 April 2015.
