Import tariff quota

On 11 August 2014, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued resolution no. 64 introducing tariff-rate quotas on three tariff lines of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM):

  1. Polyethylene terephthalate (ex 001 of NCM 3907.60.00): tariff decrease from 14% to 2% for a quota of 20'000 tons and a period of 12 months
  2. Viscose rayon (NCM 5504.10.00): tariff decrease from 12% to 2% for a quota of 4'800 tons and a period of 12 months
  3. Cranes lifting more than 750 tons (ex 001 of NCM 8705.10.90): tariff decrease from 35% to 2% for a quota of 2 units and a period of 6 months
