Import tariff

On 23 September 2009, vide Notification No. 108/2009 - Customs, the Government of India notified an exemption, applicable to imports from Pakistan and Sri Lanka only, whereby any levy of customs duty on 248 listed product lines was capped at a maximum of 9%, down from 10% prior to the amendment.

These exemptions are by way of amendment to Notification No. 68/2006, dated 30 June 2006, which established preferential tariff treatment for selected neighbouring jurisdictions.
