Export quota

On 28 December 2010, the Ministry of Commerce issued Notice No. 1133 of 2010, introducing the first batch of export quotas on rare earth metals for 2011. Based on the document, the total quota is 14,446 tons, a reduction of 10% compared to the first batch of 2010.

The notice does not distinguish between light and heavy rare earths.

There are a total of 31 Chinese companies qualified for the rare earth export, according to the notice.
