Export quota

 On 7 December 2009, the Government of India relaxed its absolute ban on export of non-Basmati rice, to allow limited exports of organic non-Basmati rice. 
Organic non-Basmati rice may be exported to a limit of 10,000 MT per annum, with registration of contract prior to shipping, and with export occuring only from Customs EDI Ports.
