On 29 January 2015, the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) announced to finance the municipality of Osasco (SP) with 63 million real (USD 21.02 million) through its credit line on fiscal administration modernization (BNDES PMAT). The loan is going to finance, amongst others, IT equipment.
The measure is considered as discriminatory, since BNDES's PMAT credit line requires a national content of at least 60% on equipment, such as on information technology.
