The Huntsville City Council approved a development agreement on January 22, 2015 for Polaris' new $142 million all-terrain vehicle factory. The contract outlines the city's $18 million-plus industrial incentive package, in exchange for a promise to employ at least 1,700 people in Huntsville at a minimum average wage of $18 an hour. The city provided free land (worth $14.6 million), sales and property tax breaks, a waiver on grading and building permit fees, and accelerated road construction.
