On May 6, 2015 the Customs and Border Service Agency published a pair of notices that provide for temporary (Customs Notice 15-016) and permanent (Customs Notice 15-017) duty-free treatment of goods imported into Canada for the 2015 Fédération Internationale de Football Association(FIFA) Women's World Cup. The orders specify the conditions under which the customs duties may be relieved on some goods imported for exclusive use in connection with the event, providing for full or partial relief of the goods and services tax (GST) and harmonized sales tax (HST) under certain circumstances. For the purposes of the Order, 'goods' do not include alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.
