Localisation incentive

On 4 June 2012, the Ministry of Finance issued Notice No. 276 of 2012. To promote the purchase of energy saving refrigerators, subsidies will be given out between 1 June 2012 and 31 May 2013 on the following conditions:

  • Refrigerators must follow the national standard(GB12021.2).
  • Refrigerators must be produced and used in China only.
  • Energy saving level of the refrigerators must be examed and certified by the third party institute. 
  • Production companies must registered in China. 
  • Production companies must sell at least 100,000 units of refrigerators per year. 
  • Production companies should promote a sustainable value chain. 
  • Subsidies vary between RMB 70 and RMB 400 (between USD 11 and USD 64)
  • Consumers should apply for the cash back from the companies. Production companies should report the results on monthly basis and apply for the state subsidies at the end of the year.
