On November 5, 2009 India opened an anti-dumping investigation on imports of Sodium Tripoly Phosphate (STPP) from China. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code subheading: 2835.31.00. The application has been filed by M/S Tata Chemicals Ltd. Mumbai on behalf of the domestic industry.
On September 21, 2010 the Indian Designated Authority issued its preliminary findings on the case and imposed a preliminary anti-dumping duty. The rate of duty is between USD 0.307 and 0.671 per Kg depending on the company.
On 8 July 2011 the Indian authorities imposed final anti-dumping duties on Sodium Tripoly Phosphate (STPP) from China. The duties range from 0.238 to 0.556 USD/kg.
On 22 February 2012, the Indian authorities terminated the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on 8 July 2011. This follows the conclusion of a midterm review, which was initiated on 22 September 2011.
