Labour market access

On 13 March 2015, Switzerland changed its regulations for short stay permits of EU and EFTA-residents searching for a job in the country. Based on previous regulations, citizens of the single market were allowed to stay longer than 3 months in search of a job by obtaining a short stay permit for up to a year.
With the amendment, they will required to prove sufficient financial means for their stay in Switzerland in order to obtain the short stay permit.
The amendment came into force on 1 April 2015.
