On 22 April 2015, Provision No. 43 introduced additional restrictions on the lease of rural lands to foreigners. Lease agreements have to be executed through a public deed by a notary. This prerequires an authorization from the Brazilian National Institute of Land Settlement and Agrarian Reform (INCRA) which is valid for 30 days during which the deed has to be notarized.
