Import tariff

On 15 January 2015, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution No. 1 introducing a reduced import tariff on aluminium sheets and plates with a width superior to 0.2 mm. The tariff of the good classified under Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) 7607.11.90 was reduced from 12% to 2% for a quota of 2'137 tonnes and a period of six months, starting 31 January 2015.
 
Update
On 3 June 2015, Camex Resolution No. 52 extended the tariff-rate quota until 30 January 2016. The import duty and quota stay the same.
 
On the 11 January 2016 Camex Resolution No. 1 extended the tariff-rate quota until 30 January 2017. The import duty and quota remains the same. See related measure. 

On January 23, 2017, Camex issued Resolution No. 1 extending the tariff-rate quota for another twelve months starting on February 1, 2017. The import duty and quota remains the same. See related measure.
