Import tariff quota

On 9 December 2014, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution no. 115 introducing tariff rate quotas on the following goods:

  • Toner (Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) 3707.90.21): the import duty was reduced from 14% to 2% for a quota of 850 tonnes for registered imports made from 10 December 2014 until 9 June 2015 and 10 June 2015 until 9 December 2015.
  • Barium carbonate (NCM 2836.60.00): the import duty was reduced from 10% to 2% for a period of 12 months and a quota of 8.250 tonnes
  • Aluminium sheets and plates (NCM 7606.12.90): the import duty was reduced from 12% to 2% for a quota of 2.937 tonnes and a period of 12 months, starting 31 January 2015
  • Polyvinyl butyral (NCM 3920.91.00): tariff was reduced from 16% to 2% for a quota of 5.818.500 kg and a period of six months, starting 1 March 2015

 
The measure took effect on 10 December 2014 and lasts until 10 December 2015 at the latest.
