ANNOUNCEMENT 09 Mar 2015In March 2015, the government of the United States of America announced a change in private-sector financial support.
NUMBER OF INTERVENTIONS
On March 9, 2015 the Commodity Credit Corporation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture adopted a final rule implementing a series of subsidies to U.S. producers of textiles and apparel that Congress approved in the 2014 farm bill (formally entitled the Agricultural Act of 2014). Under one of these subsidies, the farm bill requires the Department of Agriculture to provide a monetary amount equivalent to what a person would have saved if the tariff-rate quotas on wool were still in effect. Another subsidy, called the Wool Yarn, Wool Fiber, and Wool Top Duty Compensation Payment, is made to processors of wool yarn, wool fiber, and wool top to compensate them for termination of the suspension of import duties on such wool. Another is called the Refund of Duties Paid on Imports of Certain Wool Products.
