Import tariff quota

On 15 December 2014, the European Commission issued regulation 1340/2014 amending regulation 1388/2013 on autonomous tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products.
With the new provisions, the products with the following HS codes have been added:

  • 2906 19 00 (29 tonnes)
  • 2915 32 00 (200'000 tonnes)
  • 2917 19 90 (80 tonnes)
  • 2921 41 00 (50'000 tonnes)
  • 2933 39 99 (10'000 tonnes)
  • 2935 00 90 (542 tonnes)
  • 3105 40 00 (45'000 tonnes)
  • 3204 17 00 (700 tonnes)
  • 3808 92 90 (500 tonnes)
  • 7604 29 10 (1'500 tonnes) and
  • 9003 11 00 and 9003 19 00 (5'800'000 tonnes).

Furthermore, the products with the following HS codes do no longer have tariff quotas:

  • 2924 19 00 (before 1'300 tonnes)
  • 2930 90 99 (before 9'000 tonnnes) and
  • 7616 99 90 (previously 800'00 pieces).

For the following products, the quotas have been increased:

  • 8714 91 10 (from 76'000 to 125'000 tonnes)
  • 8714 91 30 (from 52'000 to 97'000 tonnes)
  • 6902 90 00 (from 75 to 225 tonnes) and
  • 3824 90 92 (from 14'500 to 23'500 tonnes).

Also, the quota for the product with the HS code 3905 30 00 has been reduced from 18'192 to 15'000 tonnes.
The regulation came into force on 1 January 2015.
Since on aggregate the tariff quotas were increased, this regulation is classified as a trade-liberalising and therefore a green measure in the GTA database.
