The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa has initiated anti-dumping investigation into picks originating in or imported from India. Ussher Inventions (Pty) Ltd. lodged an application alleging the dumping of Picks origninating in or imported from India. The allegation is based on the comparison between the normal value in India and the export price from India. On the basis of export price data from 1 July 2008 to 31 March 2009 and the FOB import price, the Commission found that there was prima facie proof of dumping. Prima facie proof of a threat of material injury was also found. The time period to be used in determining the dumping margin in the exporting country of origin will be from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009.
On 16 July 2010, the investigation was closed without duty.
