Tax or social insurance relief

In 2009 the state of Michigan provided an incentives package to Motown Motion Pictures for a film studio. Most of the subsidy came from a MEGA tax credit awarded by the state, which also provided $13 million in Infrastructure Development Film and Digital Media incentives. The estimated value of the subsidy is $114 million.
 
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives thatare likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facinginternational competition, whether from imports, in export markets, andfrom foreign subsidiaries.
