In-kind grant

In 2013 state and local governments in Tennessee provided a subsidy package to Hankook Tire that included $72 million from the state for infrastructure improvements, job training, and "a cultural program" to help Korean families integrate into the community. The package also included free land worth $28.6 million from Clarksville and Montgomery County and $50 million in local property tax abatements over 20 years. 
 
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives thatare likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facinginternational competition, whether from imports, in export markets, andfrom foreign subsidiaries.
