Financial grant

In 2011 the state of Connecticut offered assistance to Jackson Laboratory for a bioscience research facility. This consisted of a $192 million partially forgivable construction loan and a $99 million research grant.
 
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives thatare likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facinginternational competition, whether from imports, in export markets, andfrom foreign subsidiaries.
