In 2010 the Michigan Economic Growth Authority granted $1.3 billion in tax credits to Chrysler to support an automotive assembly plant in Sterling Heights.
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives that are likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facing international competition, whether from imports, in export markets, and from foreign subsidiaries.
