On 14 October 2014, the Indonesian government passed regulation 76/2014 on public procurement in the defense industry. It introduces new restrictions in the purchase of military equipment from abroad. Apart from the previous local content requirements (cf. Related Measures), requirements on minimum levels of countertrade as well as an offset requirements depending on the contract value are now inserted.
The regulation came into force on the day of its announcement.
