Import-related non-tariff measure, nes

On 26 January 2010, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade issued regulation 02/M-DAG/PER/1/2010 amending provisions stipulated in 23/M-DAG/PER/6/2009 (cf. Related Measures).
With the new measure, textiles produced in the Bonded Zones (and which are listed in the appendix) that are made entirely out of Indonesian raw materials will no longer be subject to technical inspection or verification by the Bonded Zone surveyors. This exemption does not hold for textiles which are fully or partially made out of imported raw materials.
As this regulation favours domestic textile raw material suppliers over foreign ones, it is considered to be a trade-distorting measure.
The provisions came into force on the day of their issuance.
The list of products exempted from the verification can be found in the appendix of the regulation.
