Anti-dumping

On July 18, 2014, the Argentinian authorities decided, after having conducted a sunset review, the continuation of the anti-dumping duty on imports of spokes (and spokes with nipples) for bicycles and motorcycles originating in China and Chinese Taipei (Resolution 407/2014, 18.07.2014). The products subject to the duty are classified under the following HS codes: 8714.1000 and 8714.9200. The rate of the duty imposed on goods (both spokes and spokes with nipples) originating in Chinese Taipei is 44.3% of the FOB price. The rate of the duty imposed on goods originating in China is 113% of the FOB price for spokes and 111% of the FOB price for spokes with nipples. This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on September 24, 2014, and is applicable for a period of five years.

This duty follows a review requested by A. Chiuchich Sociedad Anónima Industrial, Comercial y Financiera. A sunset review was then initiated by the Argentinian authorities on January 18, 2013 (Resolution 10/2013, 18.01.2013). Resolution 10/2013 was published in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic on January 21, 2013.

The original anti-dumping duty was decided on July 16, 1998 by Resolution 811/1998. It entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on July 22, 1998. It was then extended a first time on July 20, 2001 by Resolution 301/2001 and a second time on January 18, 2008 by Resolution 14/2008.

On 17 July 2019, the Argentinian authorities terminated the definitive duty imposed on imports of spokes (and spokes with nipples) for bicycles and motorcycles originating in China and Chinese Taipei. The duty was terminated as it was set to expire.
