On 24 February 2010, Indonesia granted government borne import duties to a variety of products used in the production of sorbitol, an oral artificial sweetener.
"Government borne" means that the import duty will be refunded by the state. Even though the importer has to pay the regular duty upfront, the measure could also be regarded as a zero tariff for the importer.
The measure is temporary and will expire on 31 December 2010.
An exact list of materials can be found in the annex of the regulation.
