Anti-dumping

On 25 April 2012, the European Commission announced the initiation of a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China and Ukraine. This follows the application lodged on 25 January 2012 by three Union producers representing a major proportion, in this case, more than 25 %, of the Union production of ironing boards.

The original anti-dumping investigation was launched by the European Commission on 4 February 2006. On 23 April 2007, the European Union decided to impose a definitive antidumping duty on the products under investigation. The rate of the definitive duty on imports from China ranged from 18.1% to 38.1%, depending on the company. The rate of the definitive duty on imports from Ukraine is 9.9%.

On 23 July 2013, the European Commission issued a regulation extending the definitive duty imposed on imports of ironing boards from China following the conclusion of the sunset review. The rate of duty ranges from 18.1% to 42.3% depending on the company.

On 23 July 2013, the European Commission terminated the sunset review investigation on imports of the subject good from Ukraine without the imposition of duties. On 23 July 2013, the duty on imports from Ukraine was terminated.

On 19 July 2018, the European Commission announced the initiation of a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the application lodged on 20 April 2018 by Colombo New Scal SpA, Rörets Polska Sp. z.o.o. and Vale Mill (Rochdale) Ltd, representing more than 25 % of the total Union production of ironing boards. 

On 2 October 2019, the European Commission issued a regulation extending the definitive duty imposed on imports of ironing boards from China following the conclusion of the sunset review. The rate of duty ranges from 18.1% to 42.3% depending on the company.
