Import quota

On 24 March 2012, the Turkish government increased the import quota of compressors beings used in air-conditioning systems by an additional 50,000 units.

The new quota was initially set to expire on 31 December 2012. However,it was subsequently prolonged until 31 December 2014 (Decree No.2012/4109) and 31 December 2015 (Decree No. 2013/5705).

The out-of-quota tariff rate for South Korea is 1.1% and for all countries of the world 2.2%. Imports from EU/EFTA, Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo, Monte Negro, Bosna and Herzegovina, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Israel, West Bank, Gaza, Mauritius, Albania and Georgia are duty-free.

With Decree No. 2016/8435, the Turkish government extended the import tariff quota until 31 December 2016 (see related state act).
