Production subsidy

On 31 August 2011, the Government of the Republic of Croatia approved the proposed Amendments to the Operational Program for Development of Wood processing and Furniture production for the period 2011-2013.
 
This operational program with a budget of 189,500,000 Croatian Kuna (USD 30, 766,036.77) aims to provide regional investment aid exclusively for Croatian business entities operating in the industry of wood processing and furniture production.
 
Participants of the program are eligible for refunds of their staff training and external consultancy costs as well as costs incurred through the participation in trade fairs.

 
The share of the total cost that is refunded through this scheme varies by the region. A maximum of 40 percent applies for participants from Northwester Croatia; 50 percent for those from Adriatic, Central or Eastern Croatia.
 
For small and medium enterprises, the ceiling is raised by 20, respectively 10, percentage points under specific circumstances.
 
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives thatare likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facinginternational competition, whether from imports, in export markets, andfrom foreign subsidiaries.
