In November 2009, the government of Mexico initiated a sunset review and extended the duty for a new period in May 2011. In November 2015, the definitive duty was again extended for a new period following the conclusion of sunset review initiated in November 2014. In November 2019, a sunset review was initiated.

Anti-dumping

On November 17, 2009, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of concrete steel nails from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 7317.0099. This review follows the applications lodged on October 14 and 20, 2009 by Deacero, S.A. de C.V. and Clavos Nacionales, S.A. de C.V. respectively. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on November 27, 2009.

On May 3, 2011, the Mexican authorities terminated the review and decided upon the continuation of the antidumping measure imposed on imports of concrete steel nails originating in China. The amount of the definitive duty is USD 0.54 per kilogram. This duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on May 17, 2011. It shall be enforced for a period of five years, starting from November 30, 2009.
The original anti-dumping duty entered into force on November 30, 2004.
 
On November 18, 2014, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a second sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of concrete steel nails originating in China. This review follows the applications lodged on October 16, 2014 by Deacero, S.A.P.I. de C.V. The review started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on November 28, 2014. The existing anti-dumping duty of USD 0.54 per kilogram remains enforced during the review.

On 10 November 2015, the Mexican authorities extended the definitive duty. The rate of duty is USD 0.54 per kg.

On 19 November 2019, the Mexican authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the request lodged on 4 October 2019 and 23 October 2019 by Clavos Nacionales México, S.A. de C.V. and  Deacero, S.A.P.I. de C.V. respectively. The existing antidumping duty remains in force for the duration of the review. The review commenced on 20 November 2019.
